Cate Blanchett's crochetted dress that featured crochetted squares and looked like a blanket was a faux pas. The only attraction was the different colours of wool.

I can remember crochet patterns with instructions to accommodate curves. Exciting garments that followed the bodies contours using different stitches and revealing flesh where appropriate.
